When the owners inspected this property in Newtown they were captivated by the period cottage at the front and the potential of the large block with dual frontages. The main house which faces Noble Street will undergo a major refurbishment and extension. At the rear, facing onto Saffron Street, a new club house and garage will be constructed to accommodate a golf simulator, office and lounge. The orientation of the site presented a dilemma – how to connect the proposed kitchen, living and dining space of the main house to the private garden between it and the club house? The answer came in the form a curvaceous roof, capturing that much prized northern sunlight.
