A large block near the Edinburgh Gardens, with a run down weatherboard house and an easy going client – it’s the stuff of an architects dreams! The proposed design reinstates the original cottage at the front, removing a previous extension. A glazed entry foyer links the old and new, providing separation between the cottage and the extension. The split ground floor level makes use of the sloping site and allows the main living and dining area to spill out onto a deck overlooking the pool. Three new bedrooms are added at first floor level and views across Edinburgh Gardens to the city can be seen from the master suite.
